stave has 5 lines. |

written at the bottom of these lines it will sound low.

written at the top of these lines it will sound high.

| As the notes get
higher up the stave the stems point down, this is to keep the
music looking neat.

| Each stave begins
with a bass clef.

The other thing you will see at the start of the
music is a time signature.
The time signature tells us how many beats are in
each bar and what kind of beats they are, we will talk about
this more in Rhythm and Rests. |
